The holiday season is official with the return of the Magic Christmas in Lights at Bellingrath Gardens and Home in Theodore, Alabama. Starting this Friday, Nov. 29, and running through Jan. 5, 2025, this beloved Gulf Coast tradition will transform the 65-acre estate into a winter wonderland featuring over a thousand handcrafted light displays and 3 million twinkling lights spread across more than a dozen themed sections.

.
At a steady pace, you could walk the exhibit in about an hour. However, you’ll certainly want to enjoy a drink, take a picture with Santa, and listen to holiday songs. On specific evenings in December, you can enjoy the sparkles while listening to choir musical performances that will add to the festive atmosphere.

.
And the warm beverages and seasonal treats offered will allow you to savor the flavors of the season while exploring the cheery displays. The lights illuminate the gardens each evening starting at 5 p.m., creating a magical backdrop for family gatherings, romantic evenings, or a night out with friends.

.
Tickets are required for this annual event, and it’s advised to book early as this local favorite often draws large crowds. The gardens will be closed on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day, so plan your visit accordingly.

.
Grab a warm coat and a loved one and create lasting memories at one of the most stunning holiday light shows in the South!
